Hey all!! This is our suspected Roo. Still open to the fact we have a hen. As the breed is dual breed- believed sapphire gem or Orpington. Could be growing quicker than other. I have 13 birds. Different mixes from a rural king bin lol our bold beauty here has been showing some serious roo signs for several weeks. I pulled this one from the sapphire gem bin but, after going back RK I noticed they had just placed similar breeds in with the old the make room for the new- so could be an Orpington or some kind of splash breed… whatever! Our biggest interest is whether this baby is a roo or hen!? What do yall think? Here is some progression pics over the last 5 weeks. Do we have Greta Van Flock or a Grady Van Cock on our hands lol
Best… Amberly :)

Olive Egger cockerel. Probably a Sapphire Sky or something like that. I've seen these turn out to be precocious females when they develop red combs and wattles quickly, but I'm fairly confident it's a cockerel even though I don't see any male-specific feathers coming in yet (there are some that look pretty shiny).

I think Sapphire Skies are barred sex-links and in some of the chick pictures I see some faint barring.
