Can you tell me what color these ORPINGTON's R? >>>UPDATE AT 16 WEEKS

I do plan on keeping a few hens but will be re-homing the roos. They will give us some nice eggs either way

A hatchery that sells the Blue Orpingtons, which shall remain nameless, apparently crossed in Blue Rocks at one point to offset the closely related birds; At least that's what I heard, so take this with a grain of salt. So later on, on occasion, yellowish legs were popping up in their Blue and Splash Orpington lines. In fact, one of Skye's splash cockerel babies started out with yellowish legs, only one I ever heard of out of my girl. They actually changed color later and became white, which was the wildest thing I'd ever seen. Anyway, maybe that's partly the reason for the yellowish-looking legs. Just food for thought.

Speckledhen, That would be a great surprise. I am anxious to see them grow and feather out but now more anxious to see IF their legs may change color as well. lol Either way, I'm happy with the colors I have so far.

According to the APA SOP for orpingtons:
Buff- pinkish white
Black - black
White - pinkish white
Blue- Horn

Your chicks all look to have yellow if I recall your pictures correctly.

For those of you who are curious what those chicks turned out to be I updated a pic of them on the first post. She now has white legs. What's that about? Does that make her an official orp? The other hen i kept still has yellow legs but she's pretty. I didn't get a pic of her yet but will tomorrow.

Here is the violet looking hen again the only one who changed leg colors: ETA...her beak is also white now

I believe she is a Splash Orp. Some of mine look like her, but their legs were never yellow to start out with. I have slate coloring in leg color and white.
