can you tell who the egg eater is?

and how do you stop it??

This weekend I had two eggs layed, one in the coop area and one outside from 5 month olds (I have 8 of them) I quickly unblocked the nesting boxes, and put one of the eggs in there so to point them in the right direction. (I took the other inside)
I just now I went to see if there were anymore, and found just half a shell...

BTW the egg sat in the box most of Saturday, all day Sunday and was intact this morning. This egg was found in the coop, and I am unsure how old it was, as i was not expecting eggs really for another couple weeks.

can you tell who the egg eater is? and how would I fix this?

I collect my eggs frequently.

If you want a decoy egg use a decoy: a wooden egg or such. Don't use a real egg.
