can you turn eggs to much when incubating chicken eggs

hi im incubating 5 chicken eggs and im turning the 3 times a day should i turn them more then that and is there such thing has turning eggs to much thanks and happy new years eve

3 is the minimum. When I was hand turning I did 5 I think. Which was inconvenient because I had a dozen eggs. It becomes time consuming.

Think about it this way, a broody hen isn't sitting there counting and timing how and when she turns the eggs. She just shuffles her feet every now and then.

As long as it's an odd number rather than an even one, and at least 3 times, you'll do fine. No need to go crazy and turn them 9 or 11 times a day, but 3 - 5 times a day is perfectly acceptable.

I prefer 5x min every time i go down to 3x only I get malpositions. that's not to say you will, that's just been my experience. it does get very time consuming if you're doing it by hand and have a lot of eggs. I don't know that you can turn them too many times, you'd probably get tired of doing it before it caused a problem lol. keep with an odd number of turns though.

Probably not but see this. The chalazae holds the yolk in the center of the egg where the growing embryo is located. If the chalazae breaks or is broken due to rough handling through shipping, candling or manually turning the embryo will die.
