Hello! I recently ordered a dozen shipped hatching eggs. I have a small automatic incubator that can only hold 12 eggs, but the seller gave me 2 extra in case any broke in transit. None of them broke, and I have 14 eggs to incubate. I managed to put all 14 in the incubator, but 6 of them are not turning when the incubator automatically turns every 2 hours. I’ve been switching those 6 non turning eggs every day in the evening to a spot where they can actually turn. The concern with that is the fact that those 6 non turning eggs aren’t turning for the majority of the day before I switch their spots, and turning over 3-5x the next day after I switch their spots. This also means that most likely all 14 eggs will have two or three days (or more) where they aren’t turned because I switch them between the non-turning and turning spots.
I have thought of an alternative, where I keep the 6 non turning eggs where they are and just turn those myself every 3-5 times a day. However, I am concerned about how often I would have to open the incubator (temperature and humidity loss). If I were to choose this option, would it be recommended I have the humidity be higher? Currently, the incubator is around 45-50% humidity, but drops to 40% when I open it. The temperature drops a little too but otherwise is a consistent 100. I do feel like this is a better option, but I would like some opinions.
I would like to note that I candled the eggs, and I believe 2 have detached air sacs. It looks like a big moving air bubble. I feel that I should have those 2 detached eggs be manually turned along with 4 other eggs. I have already let all the eggs settle for 24 hours before incubating. The shipping took around 4-5 days. I placed the eggs in the incubator yesterday (June 17) at around 2pm.
