Can you use an egg carton in the incubator..............??

I line my cartons up horizontally and prop the back one against the back of the incubator at about 45º. The next one sets up against it, so from the end they look like this:/ / / / / . Then instead of propping up one end, just turn the cartons the other direction: \\ \\ \\ \\ . I put a mark on one side of the carton in the middle, then you can tell if you have turned them correctly. All marks up, all marks down. Works for me!

When referring to "turning eggs," it isn't really turning them upside down. (I know I thought that when I was new to incubating, too!). It is merely rocking them back and forth. The pointy end is always down. You can elevate one side of the carton for one turn, and the other side of the carton for the next turn.
That's exactly what I was hoping, but would you clarify this for me....you would elevate each side to include all four sides throughout the day, correct? And, if so, how high would I elevate my carton,
an inch? I will appreciate any/all feedback.
I will be setting my eggs tomorrow so I can see, it's going to be another loooooooong night.
