Can you post a pic of your incubator? I've never heard of sand.

It's a homemade incubator, shaggy but hoping it'll work.Does it really matter what you place your eggs on as long as the temperature is right?

Please let me know if there are any mistakes.

I also have a foam egg tray ,but it doesn't keep the heat in very well .

That's the oddest incubator I've seen. How do you regulate temperature and humidity? And how do you turn the eggs? With the lamp sitting in the corner and on the ground, is the temp the same over the entire surface? Do you have any insulation around and under the box?

Personally I wouldn't use sand, because of the way it behaves with heat. It could get too hot or too cold. Organic materials like the cloth or a towel seems better.

Please keep posting when you put eggs in, interesting to see how it works! :)

As i said it's an expirement ,quarantine has got me doing all types of crazy stuff.I saw a couple of youtube videos on people making incubators out of cardboard so i gave it a try .

It was getting way too hot in the box ,so i got a bigger box .First i lined the sides with foam and then with newspaper ,then i put some clothing scraps on the bottom and then put a foam egg tray on top of it .I placed a bowl full of water with a 40w bulb hanging from the top.I lined the outside of the box with more jute mats.Hope it works. What day should i candle them and what should i look for?
