Can you use Whole Wheat Kernels to make flour?

Coffee beans aren't really all that hard, not like a lot of grains, and oatmeal is soft, too.

Don't get a Corona, they're really hard to crank, and you can't get a fine grind with them. Your flour would be very coarse, almost like cracked wheat. A friend had one years ago, I remember trying to bake biscuits with that flour, they were hard little bricks.

idoxlr8, is there a brand name and model number on yours? Now and hen I hear from somebody who finds a really good older mill like that, but they often don't have a brand name or anything, and there are a lot out there that don't work so well.

There's supposed to be a flour fineness graph on the 2nd link, for comparing different grinders, but it didn't appear for me. Maybe it will if you have high speed, or an up-to-date PC. I have a Mac, sometimes a site has certain things in a microsoft format that won't load for me. These guys once had a very nice write up on several brands, but it's been removed. Just under where it says "Grinder Flour Fineness Page" is some very helpful info, about how fine different grinders will grind. I have a Family Grain Mill, it's not bad, but a lot of work. (the biscuits with the flour from the FGM are very good! A crunchy crust, but tender inside, wonderful flavor.) Much less than a Corona, with much better results, for sure, but still, a lot a work.
