Canada goose mom missing

There's this one family of Canada geese that stay at this lake behind wawa and they do not go anywhere else. I check on them everyday. But today I noticed the mother goose was not there. It was just the gander and the 4 goslings. Wouldn't the gander be calling out for the goose? He just looked alert.. and also wondering what could of happened to her.

Are there coyotes, bobcats or loose dogs in the area ? All can carry off an adult goose without leaving much sign.

They're aren't any coyotes or bobcats around here that I know of.. especially where these geese live is more like a suburban/urban type areas where there's not much woods around. There is but not like much other towns. And this family does not leave the spot they stay at. So it's kind of concerning. And can a lose dog really get a goose?

There are coyotes in almost all major cities in the US. Suburbia with all of it's cats and rats is a coyote haven.

Plenty of loose dogs in urban areas... and coyotes too...

Or maybe she was goose-napped by that other major urban predator, "humans".

Well, I don't know that they are either, it is all purely speculation, the goose is missing and you were looking for reasons why? She could also have sickened and died, maybe she was old... All we can do in response to your post is speculate really.
