I'm looking for breeders accessible from southern Ontario. I'm new to chickens and will probably be getting my first chicks in Spring 2016. What I've seen from most of the Canadian websites, it looks like most people won't ship chicks across Canada because of the way the postal service handles them.

I haven't decided on breeds yet, it will largely depend on what's available.

I would like at least one Chanticler since it's a truly Canadian chicken. Otherwise I'm looking for good natured (pet), cold hardy, breeds. It would be nice to have a variety of egg colors as well.

I'd also like a couple of Cayuga ducks.

Lol so there's my wishlist.

A great hatchery in Ontario is Performance poultry. They have loads of different types of chickens there.

I'm just a backyard breeder but I breed BCMS, Mistral Gris meat chickens, and heritage blue slate turkeys...
I will also incubate other people's eggs if they want.
I'm near Duncan.
