Canadians check in here....

Cayenne pepper is an immune booster and can help boost eggs. Lots of herbs can. Mint will as well I believe. Nettles maybe. Alfalfa is good.

Have you done the finger vent test thing to see if any of them are still laying?

Id lock them in for a week to make sure. Many are the random stashes of dozens of eggs that I find throughout the year.

Under the floor of the barn, under an old car, everywhere in holes in the square bale stack, catbeds, mangers... they’re inventive in where they’ll squeeze into to lay an egg lol
Well maybe that is a great idea. It is so hard to believe that the three are not laying at all . Since Jan / Feb!

I did a check on the internet about cayenne pepper and egg laying. It led me back to BYC. lol.
One person said that studies done since 1940 in var countries showed an adverse effect in cold climates esp if fed over 1%.
Some discussion about increasing metabolism another about Vit A. Didn't spend a lot of time researching as I am alergic, but didn't see any links to scientific reports.

Cream Legbar 5 month pullets started laying. Never had such a small egg. 26g. That's hers at the top of the pile!
Now if my 5 mo Marans would just figue it out. They layed one pullet eggs each and then nothing! It's driving me crazy! IMG_20180616_180653.jpg

I am desperate at this point. I am adding an external nest box to give more internal room. Maybe they dont like my roll away egg trays i build this winter.
