Candeling help please-day 21

So most of my hatch is done. I have 2 eggs left. 1 was undeveloped and one I just need done help on. It's a blue egg (cream legbar) and I could see nothing from the bottom. Candeling from the top I saw what is pictured below. Anyone have any thoughts as to what I'm seeing and if you think I should leave it.

Don't do anything on my say so. There are so many more experienced people here, but I have just started candling and to me it looks like an egg that started developing and then quit towards the end.
You can pull up the thread on the water test. Some people put their questionable eggs in water at the end to see if there is any movement.

Thanks for that suggestion! I did the water test and it floated just right with a little bobbing above the water. So I guess it's still good...maybe. I put it back and we'll see

I agree with dekel. I'm thinking it stopped near the end. Maybe it's just the pic, but I don't see any veining either. An egg will bob as long as it stll has an air cell. The key is if it wiggles. Keeping it in a couple days won't hurt anything, but I would not put much hope into that one. Hopefully I'm wrong.

Yeah, I'm not really banking on it hatching. It was one of those i almost tossed and put it back and a few days later it actually looked like it had developed along.
That makes sense about the air cell. I didn't let it sit long enough to wiggle. I was trying to get back in the bator as quick as possible. I'll leave it for a few days.

Well I finally gave up hope today on my last egg and opened it. You were right that it was fully developed. It was shrink wrapped so I think I may have caused it by opening the incubator to get my chicks out. I will prob never hatch 14 eggs in an brinsea Eco 20. It had a wonderful hatch rate but really I had to get some out by the time 9 or 10 hatched.

That egg looks quite pourous, so it may just have been that egg lost more moisture during the incubation than the others causing the air cell to grow too big thus shrinkwrapping. If the chick had not pipped, opening the bator shouldn't have shrinkwrapped it. Even when an egg is pipped opening the bator does not mean you will shrink wrap it, it just increases the chance that it will. You probably had nothing to do with it.

What do you think is the optimum number of eggs in the Brinsea Eco 20? That is what I have, and I was thinking 10-12 maximum? It can get over crowded easily. My first hatch I had 9 of 10 eggs hatch. The tenth pipped but the others rolled it pip down and I thought it was safe to open the incubator not seeing the pip.
Then I hatched only 2/18 on shipped eggs. (Only4 went to lockdown). Then 13/18. I added six of my own eggs to a dozen shipped eggs and all of mine hatched and 7 of the shopped.
My final hatch was a singleton. My own egg in with 6 delivered (not shipped) eggs. None had developed at all.
Think for a while I will go back to hatching my eggs and a maximum of 12. although 8-10 would probably be better.

, well, shipped eggs are always a gamble I guess. I lucked out and my seller shipped me 13 out of 14 fertile eggs, all but one of them candled fertile on the 5th day with veining. Of course this all has to do with how well they were packaged. Mine were even warm from the heatpads provided.

I think realistically 10-12 eggs is fine if you are planning to incubate and hatch in the brinsea 20. Some put them in a styrofoam incubator at hatch time for more room but I don't see myself doing that. If all 14 had hatched I just don't think I would have made it without having to grab some chicks out before the hatch was over. Would have been way too crowded.

I also had one pip and get rolled over. I had another already pipped so I quickly opened the bator and threw in wet paper towels and gave it a quick roll. Both hatched just fine. You just have to make sure you throw something in to compensate for the moisture lost in my opinion.

I think 12 def sounds reasonable
