So I waited till day thirteen and candled 18 eggs and I hope I did it correctly , because I took out twelve eggs that looked clear with no developement ? There was a bit of a darker ring , but no veins to be seen ? The other six showed development ( dark )......two that I feel good about , but I couldn't tell if they were developing properly so it's up in the air .I have tried to keep the humidty up and the temp has stayed consistant so although these are shipped eggs I had hoped for a bit better results ? right now I think that I might get two out of eighteen eggs hatching ?.

whenever it comes to shipped eggs, i try and leave them in longer then i would home eggs. turkey eggs i find a bit harder then duck or chicken ones. generally speaking i don't look specifically for embryo or veins, i look more for the 2 tone yolk. its bigger and slow moving, darker in the middle then at the end. sounds odd but simple once you get it. did you crack a dud to see what went on with it?

I crack all the eggs that I cull just to make sure that what I think is inside is really inside. It has to be really dark to candle well. I go into an interior bathroom with no windows and close the door. My candler is a roll of toilet paper with a strong light underneath it. Works great.

Just put the egg on the other end of the tube.

I candled them at midnight in the room where the incubator is in .I haven't broken any yet but will today , I believe that they were clear based on what I saw , and I looked at them twice to make sure .The six that I kept were dark inside and from what I see in chicken eggs they would conferm that something was happening inside ? I'm a bit disappointed , but realize that shipped eggs are a hit and miss

I had 6 Red Bourbons, they are kinda creamy with spots. At one week I candled them and 2 were very obviously doing well, I could see the embryo and veins/darkness very clearly, one was iffy, two had the tiniest of cracks so I pitched them cause I hadn't noticed at first (shipped eggs) and one was runny.

3 still in there and I candled them at almost 2 weeks here last night and they were VERY obvious and moving all over in there.

Good Luck, I hope you at least get your 2!
