Candeling

This was the egg yesterday.

This is the same egg today I cleaned it because someone mentioned bacteria, but if you look at the black sharpie line, it has definitely grown overnight!

Out of the 12 eggs I decided not to toss 8 and I will keep candeling them to see if anything changes, thank you for all the advice. Still hard to tell what day I'm on. 3-6 by Internet charts.

She only sits at night, she's out all day

She decided today that she wanted to sit on the eggs and growled at me when I took them out to candel them, should I leave the eggs with her even though she's not a consistent sitter and give her a chance or try to put them in my diy incubator?

It is not a good idea to clean the eggs as it removes the protective layer on the outside of the shell and can also force bacteria into the egg via the pores when you rub it 'clean'.

Put them in the bator, at least for now. If she pulls another trick like that she could kill any with life still in them.

Good egg, bad egg? I have 1 obvious good egg, and one that might be bad, it doesn't stink but there's a weird line under it, not a complete blood ring and the black spot seems split, can someone tell me weather it is good or not or what it looks like? I did make the up and down mark on the outside of the egg to keep up with growth.

These 2 eggs are about 5 days apart
