Candled Some of the Shipped Eggs Today...

Here's the box from Jody-it has more damage than any box I've received with eggs in it, although I've seen much worse. Why they went to NJ first, I have no idea, but hopefully, that didn't hurt them any. Final total for this hatch is 73 with an extra Blue Orp I put in today (was going in a customer's order, but seemed to have a small crack on the aircell end and didn't want to risk mailing it-if it seeps, its coming out pronto!)

Oh my lord... I thought I was bad...

My PO lady calls and says, "your eggs are here!" even when it's just marked fragile. They know me by sight and name now!

I do hope that they all hatch for you!

I received some Red Dorking eggs today, and I didn't seen any air sac in them at all... she said she collected them on Sunday and Monday, then shipped Monday afternoon, so I'm guessing she's telling the truth? 3 days in transit from AZ to AK, and they all made it!!

I hope to someday bribe you for some blue orps... they are bee-yoo-tiful!

After my orders are filled at the beginning of June, you just let me know and we'll see about getting you some Blue Orps. No bribe necessary. After all, you and I have a little detective agency going, right?

Inside joke, folks...
You won't really see the aircell if they're fresh, so yours are probably fresh, then. Good luck with those!

I would love some blue orps for my personal flock! OMG! Would you?

I'll mark it on my calendar to get a hold of you after June 1 to see where you're at, ok? My incubators should be empty by then, unless the local feed store wants me to hatch some more for them.

Heck, I'll build another incubator just for some blue orps!

Yes, we did a nice bit of deducting, you and I... make a good team!

Trust me, I'm still watching, too...

Good pics Cyn. Isn't it incredible what they do with a box marked Fragile - Eggs all over it. I am happy to hear none of the eggs broke from that kind of handling, but I sure hope they didn't scramble them either. My poor little babies. Please let me know how it turns out. Good luck with the hatch. You are going to have your hands full with all of those babies.

Jody

Well, I sure hope I have my hands full with yours, Julie's and Christie's babies, as well as a few sweet little Ameraucana babies from California! Jody, I'll candle at five or six days on yours and let you know for sure if they survived the round-the-east coast trip.
I've never sent any eggs to Alaska! That will be an interesting first for me!

It works the same as shipping them anywhere else in the US.

Unfortunately, I have to convince people of that first, usually.

The Dorking eggs I just set came from AZ... she shipped them Monday afternoon, priority mail, and they got here Thursday morning.

Can't wait to see pics of your new babies!

Here on the peninsula it's starting to pop into the 70s... the trees are covered in fresh green leaves, and everything is gorgeous. But don't tell anyone.

June is the best month to be here.

I actually had to convince someone once that we were still part of the North American continent... everyone always sees the maps of the US with Alaska and Hawaii off to the side. My husband said there was a guy in the military with him that SWORE that Alaska was a big island in the Pacific Ocean.
