We have an older style candler, and I have a really hard time seeing through the turkey eggs - the darker color and harder shell really cause me grief!

Any recommendations? Am thinking of buying a different one - but price IS an issue.

What kinds have any of you found that work well for turkey eggs?

I've had REALLY good luck with the smaller LED lights, even the tiny key chain one by Streamlight (like 8 bucks)from Amazon works. The Penlight styles that are the brightest work, I just bought this one and it rocks...

What I don't like about this one is that it has what I thought were black dots on the end, and they actually are holes and leak light and I had to tape them for candling. It's a very bright light and I do use it outside at night even.

I had a streamlight penlight one that worked but it broke very quickly...

LOL Turkey eggs may be dense but they ain't dark. Try candling guinea or blue or green eggs - those LEDs work with even fairly dense dark eggs. And they're not hot.
