Since today is the 18th day for the first batch of eggs and I wanted to see any differences since the 16th day and check for red rings, I candled all of them again last night. I actually didn't find any red rings. I was surprised because I really thought I had seen some on the 16th day.
It looks like I have 16 eggs that I can't see through but some of them are still clear at the bottom and I can see veins at the bottom of 2 of them, just above the clear spot. 13 of them are solid dark to the bottom of the eggs. One egg has the air sack going down the side, it is not as big as half the egg but the rest of the egg is dark. Is there any chance this one could make it?
I am assuming that if I can see veining that that/those eggs may take longer to hatch?
I have one that has a murky yellow center and the bottom is clear with no veining. I am assuming this one is not good.
Another one seems to have a floating yolk and I can see through it so I am assuming this one is not good.
If the air sack is the same size, not a bit bigger, and there is a dark middle with a clear end and no veining, is it dead? I have 2 like this, but I have another one with veining running into the clear part.
Sorry, I didn't take any pictures. I was working alone. Thanks for any input. Sylvia
