Candling brown eggs?

How do you candle brown eggs?

With a bright light. I candled some Welsummer eggs recently with great success. I used an old two gallon plastic ice cream container. I cut a 1" hole in the bottom of the container, then mounted a light with a 75 watt bulb inside it with some screws. All eggs that were left after candeling hatched. You can't see as much detail in brown eggs as you can w/ white, but with a little practice it can be done. I don't try and candle them until at least day 10. After that it is much easier to tell if it is fertile and developing.
