Candling button quail eggs, is this what the veins look like?

I candled my eggs today, I know with button quail its hard to do, but I'm curious & had to. I could only see what I think are veins in two of the eggs & I'm hoping that its because the shells are too dark to see the rest (there are 30 in there). This is what I saw. Can someone confirm if it is veins or not? At first I thought some kind of spider found a way to climb in there or that it was cracks. Thanks!
Oh and I used my Iphones camera flash & it worked much better than any of the expensive flashlights I had

yeah, it is Will do! My fiance fried my first incubator on day 1, and I didnt realize for a few hours, temp & humidity went crazy and I couldnt get a new incubator until the next morning, so I was a bit skeptical. But atleast I know two (hopefully more) are growing

An atomic flash you got there! I never managed to candle button quail eggs. Now I will buy a nuclear reactor, connect it to an iphone and there...trick is done!

Joking apart, I suggest you candle at 6 days, 4 days is a bit too early and make sure not to take too long to candle the eggs or the eggs might get chilly and I'm sure you do not want that.

haha its a nice built in flashlight and the hole in my case for it holds the egg perfectly. Its like it was built just for that hmm maybe it was

I know, I wasnt going to candle at all, because I heard its nearly impossible, but its my first time incubating anything, and I have zero patience..

6 days... hmm .. thats just an excuse for me to do it again tomorrow

haha if I had it my way I would have candled them an hour after I put them in the incubator. We keep the brooder & incubator in our spare room, its might be warmer in there than in the incubator. But I do hurry, I dont want the poor lil guys to freeze, just incase. and from now on Im just gonna candle the 5 or 6 lighter colored shells, I just do it for my curiosity. I had to start leaving my phone downstairs when I go to turn the eggs kuz its just too tempting to take it with me.. Its gonna be a looong 12+ days..

That is awesome. Thanks for the great pictures. I am new to raising any kind of animal and I decided to start with quail. I have my incubator set up and I am picking up Texas A&M quail on Saturday. I hope to see development like that when I first candle.

Just out of curiosity, what is it that the egg is sitting on??? I've used a chicken McNuggets box lid with a dime sized hole with black cloth on it.
