I have two BQ eggs due to hatch tomorrow (!!!). I candled them today to check development and here is a description of what I noted: The air pocket was extremely noticeable at the rounded end of the egg, and the rest was very dark/black. I just recently started trying to hatch BQ eggs in a circulated air incubator kept at 99.5 100 F with a mason jar of water in for humidity, but I don't have a humidity-meter.

For my candler, I'm using a 75-lumen LED flashlight with a focusing piece made out of aluminum foil, electrical tape, and masking tape. It's worked really well so far! Thanks for any advice!

I have never candled cbbq eggs but the first question I have is how long have the eggs been in the incubator? Give them time...good luck

Candling does nothing to help the egg hatch. It is only to satisfy human curiosity. Or if you absolutely must have more room in the bator right away. But the extra handling and messing around and opening the bator definitely can work against hatching. Just my opinion.

Hope you have good news soon.
