Candling Dark Eggs

I use a Bontrager 700i bike light to candle the dark eggs. It is 700 lumens. Even with that concentrated bright beam of light, I can barely make out veining in my marans eggs, and sometimes movement. So anything less than that I think is pointless to try.

It's a Bontrager 800 R...so it has an output of 800 lumens on its highest setting. Downsides...it's about $100 and gets pretty dang hot so I only candle for about 3- 4 seconds per egg. But man talk about seeing details!
Thats so cool! My hubby has one similar. I will ask tonight!!
