First timer here. We set 15 eggs. Yesterday was Day 13 and we candled. One was completely empty. This one I wasn't sure of. I saw an eye, but not much else. We decided it was gone, cracked it open and yes. It had started growing but had died.

We still have 13 thriving (we think)! I have another thread about them.

I have a similar situation. One of mine is on day 12 and was developing for sure, but now at day 12 it's much clearer than the other eggs at day 12. Should I discard it?

We did because I got scared reading things about eggs exploding. I definitely didn't want that, and this one looks so much different than the ones that were clearly alive and moving. I hope some other people answer, because I am definitely not experienced.

Any egg that lags far behind in development or has no internal motion has most likely died. I recandle a day or two later and if they haven't changed, out they go.

I candled again, and I got it out of the incubator. When I cracked it, it showed only minor development, definitely not enough for 12 days. I'm glad I removed it then and not after it explodes.
