I'm new to this so I don't exactly understand what I'm looking at?

Your not seeing anything because there is nothing there. I would guess they are infertile, but give them another 3-4 days & candle again

Yeah that's what my unincubated duck eggs looked like when we were using them just as a comparison for the eggs in the bator. Eggs in the bator were totally black except for where you could see the air cell. Course we were just using a lamp so I bet an actual candeler would allow us to see them better.

The title is wrong, this is 4 days in. I guess I'm just really impatient and nervous!

How far along were the eggs in the bator when they were black?

I am incubating duck eggs for the first time and at 4 days could see veins forming. At 11 days they are still a ways from completely dark but you can see movement and swooshing around in them.

Awe, that's upsetting. Thank you so much for helping! At least I know what to look for now! I still might give it a few more days

I did mine 2 days ago so they'd be 20 days. lol I'd hope they'd be black at that point!

I cracked it open :( confirmed infertile. I just set a few new ones this afternoon so I hope those work out for me!

20 days! That's so close! Good luck with your baby duckies!
