candling Easter eggs

Any decent flashlight will work for candling too. Hubby dearest leant me his small LED flashlight when I wanted to candle eggs under a broody. It beat my candler by a lot.

I have 4 frizzle eggs that are a dark green and hard to see into the eggs. I can however see the air cell and that is what I will watch later in the hatch. I will not candle the dark green ones as much, and it will help me stay off my eggs.:clapyeah me.

Also just wanted to say I have hatched out BCM eggs before, and could not tell they were fertile till day 10.

Thanks guys unfortunately the candle i ordered is mainly suited for banty eggs and i think ill sace myself from breaking any i took their weights today on day twelve and wrote on each egg then right before lockdown i am g going to see the weight difference lol wish me luck
What do y'all use tonweighntheneggs?

I used pocket gram scales for years, and still do. I just put a piece of paper towel on the platform and it doesn't roll off.
I also have a very precise, high end kitchen scale that weighs up to 500 grams. I can weigh flats and hatching trays on it.

If light shines in both ends- (the point) at lockdown? FYI it is NOT 2 air cells, the egg is not developing correctly. The point should be dark after day 16 if not it may not hatch, but don't give up. It may just take longer to hatch. do not lock down an egg that has "2 air cells." Between the choice of locking down or not for the other eggs if you only have one incubator, I would say don't. Especially if you wet hatched the whole hatch.
