candling guinea eggs!

I thought of that too...Don't guineas stop laying in the fall? It is starting to get chilly here now...only going to be in the low 60s here during the day now..My three adult guineas have to have their coop switched, we built a bigger one (12x16:)) and turned it into a duplex...the plan is to introduce the old guineas to the new guineas in that coop for a couple of weeks then put them all together...Then the little chicks can have the other 1/2 of the coop...

Try putting a nice fluffed up flake of hay in the pen to invite her to lay in there, it may work especially if they are trained (as much as you can train them) to go into their pen, I did that and they took me up on my offer. Also to coax them into the pen better I don't feed them until it starts getting dark so they are trained pretty good to go in just before dark to eat, I still have 1 or 2 who try to be rebels but usually lasts for only a nite.

I have a few eggs in the incubator and they are still laying eggs so hoping the ones in the incubator are fertile and hopefully she'll set on the new clutch. This is my first time hatching keets, but have hatched chickens and a turkey last year and other times in the past. I may do the samething hatch the eggs and just before the guena hen hatches her eggs bring them and finish the job for her.
