soooo quackers is in the bath so i took a look at a few eggs. i can't see in them but i can see what i'm sure is an air sac (i am a first timer) is that good???? should i be excitied????????

All eggs have an air sac, even those that aren't developing. However, the air sac gets bigger as time goes on. Hold a flashlight up to the eggs and see if you see any veins. How far along are they?

By now you should pretty much just see the light area where the airsac is- and the rest of the egg should be pretty much all dark by now. Around the rim of the air sac you may see some lighter areas- and Maybe some veins there too.

i couldn't see much. just the air sac. i was looking for veins, but i think i need a flash light (or torch lol)

if youve got a baby in there and they are only a few days from hatch they should be fairly dark...this is one of my eggs on day 26...internal pip. you can see the bill in the air sack, but nothing below it... hope that helps.

Here is my wood duck egg on day 25...it is all dark except for the airsac and a little around the airsac. I can also see veins and a baby moving inside.

I have a little spotlight on my phone, used for flash when taking pictures, that works better than any flashlight i've ever used.
