How much candling is too much? I've read to handle the eggs as little as possible, but it's so fascinating to see the development every day or two. I also want too catch any bad eggs before they stink up the place. Is there an ideal stage of development to check for problems?

I check on day 7 and cull any infertile or blood ring eggs.
Then again on day 18 when I take them out of the turner.
At day 18 there is generally no doubt that there is a chick in there or not.
