Yes...I am new at this and so excited!. I have a hen on 8 brown eggs which are between 9 and 5 days old. After reading info on candling I decided to give it a try and to my amazement 4 of my eggs have movement that I could actually see!!! That just blows me away!!!! Sorry if I'm so excited.

3 of the others have visible veins and the other 1 is hard to make out. 2 of the eggs are dark and spotted which makes is very difficult to candle. How long can I continue to candle them before just leaving them alone and not disturbing them anymore?

From what I have learned, you can candle them anytime up to day 18...well under a broody, all the way up until they hatch. But most recommend day 7 and then 14. After that, they are most likely hard to define anything bc they are taking up the whole space of the egg. (I hope I am right as to explaining all this bc I am new as well to incubating and candling.)

thanks so much....I appeciate the reply and any input to learn from
