Hi guys,, I have a question about my eggsz

Winter isnt the best time for egg hatching from what I read but can be done. So few of my chickens started to lay recently, excited I gathered a few up then them sit over night to get to room temperature and popped them into the incubator.
Its say 7 for my EE egg and my question is according to this chart, when I candle it it doesn’t look like day 7 but rather its so dark on the one side it appears to look like a day 12 or so.
What does this mean for my EE egg?

not promising but in 7 days time it would be impossible for something to have developed to the day 12 stage. So what you are seeing has to be the yolk. If there are no veins whatsoever then it most likely died.
What about other eggs. Do they look like day 7 cause that is usually the best way, find one that is moving and compare the rest to that one. Maybe your candling light is too weak to see the detail properly.
Sometimes the veins form and then die leaving a sort of dark looking web behind - that will slosh from side to side when you move the egg.

That could be it? I know it did have veins and was developing, now I can’t see it and I can’t even capture it properly with my camera. Ill tru my ipad and see if that works better. I was also questioning my light but I bought it on Amazon and it seems bright.

Okay, I got some camera help for some pictures. I see what you mean by still seeing the veins as I do have another EE that is moving around still and I can see it clearly. This is the egg in question from all sides.

I would never want to diagnose from pictures via the internet, but that looks looks an early quitter. At seven days, you should certainly see good vein development and usually you we notice the embryo moving.
If you have any doubt, candle them again on day 11. If there is no change, you will know they are done.

Thank you! I think it also quit now that I looked at it more. It had a lot of odds stacked against it from being a winter egg and a first laid of the year. I hope to gain experience and knowledge from this so when I start hatching my Ayam Cemani’s I will not make the same mistakes.
