My red bourbon hen had been setting for a while. I think he eggs are due to hatch any day now. We did not candle at all in the begining and this is our first batch of turkey eggs. We candled yesterday and couldnt see through them at all. Does that mean the light didnt come through because there was a turkey in the way, or are red bourbon eggs too thick maybe?

I'd say there is probably a Turkey in the way! Otherwise , depending on the candling device you are using, you would of seen something. Could you even see an airsac?

not really. we used a homemade candler that worked with the chicken eggs. I would think there is just a turkey in the way, but I just didnt know if I had candled in the begining if light would have made it through then either. Not knowing the thickness of the egg and all.

Yes early on you would have been able to see all the veining and such. They are not much differant than a chicken egg as far as candling goes. So IMO I would say you have some turkeys in those eggs. Hope this helps.
