Hi guys! I wanted to know how often can i candle my eggs?

Im not sure how many times you can. But I only plan to candle 2-3 times (im thinking 3, candling at days 7/14/18. If I decide to do 2 times I will candle at days 10/18). My husband even got me the turner so I wouldnt have to keep opening the incubator.

Quote: I honestly think after 10 days you can candle more, but when they are so little I would let them be and grow stronger. Some say it matters how often and some say it dont matter... I will say that you can enjoy your hatch by candling, HOWEVER.... do yourhand washing, candle safely (DONT DROP) and quickly with a COOL LIGHT. oh and have someone take pictures as u do it so you can share them with us!!! LOL!!

i have egg explode and they were way over the hatch date

My suggestion would be to never leave eggs in the hatcher 3 days past the hatch date. That being said, if you are unable to candle the eggs when you first put them in to make sure they are not rotten, and you don't candle any during incubation, you run the risk of letting them explode. A $15 candler is definitely worth it.

weeks over
did not read out sportsmen in a while

So I couldn't take it anymore...I had to check them. The eggs I could see veins in a couple days ago are now completely dark. I have a very bright led light I bought from the Tractor store so it can't be the light. Is it normal to see all black in there on day 10? In the others I can see right through them except for a little dark shadow.

Thanks everyone! I have been keeping my hands off lol! out of 14 eggs I can definately see veins in 4. The rest I have no idea...guess I'll find out soon enough what's in the rest. Thanks everyone!

I'm in the same boat. I'm just waiting....waiting.....
