I read the article, and it sounds like the bread and the fillings are packaged separately, you open the can and assemble the sandwich. That would make it possible for it to be palatable.
I would not buy them, however. It's just not so difficult or time consuming, to smear peanut butter and jelly on bread, to justify the expense of a canned sandwich, You still have to smear the fillings on the bread anyway, so the ONLY advantage is that you could have them rattling around in the car for a long time and grab it to eat in a pinch. It might be ok to have in the car in case of emergency, if you might get stranded somewhere, like a snow storm, or on a road trip, or something. Having been stranded a few places where there were no resources nearby, (in the desert, 50 miles outside of Ely, Nevada, is one time) I can see the value of that. But as a regular thing? No way.
A cold BBQ chicken sandwich has very limited appeal. I'd be glad to have it in an emergency. But there are a lot of canned and dried foods already available that could be kept in the car for that.
nope.... none of it... That is rediculous.... I am NOT a soldier and if I had one at home or a little future soldier... I wouldn't make them eat it either... it looks nutritionally devoid. The bread is probably "enriched" and the jam is mostly sugar (oh and corn syrup) and the peanut butter is filled with preservatives..... YUCK!!!!!!!!! Nonesensical perverted foodstuffs!!!
