Canfield Ohio Show June 11, 2011

I wrote the contact today. She writes:
The entry fee for our show is $3.00/bird or $6.00 for a double coop. We only enter standard and bantam poultry and also waterfowl. No other animals are permitted as this is a poultry show. We also have sale coops which are $3.00 for a large and $2.00 for a small one. We usually have anywhere from 500 to 600 birds at our show. If you send me your address, I can send you a catalog tomorrow. The deadline for entries is June 4, so you would need to get it back to me soon.

Doubtful, but we'll see... I'm most interested in finding a "swap" so I can scale back on my white silkies, hence why I asked about sale cages. By June 11, my older "chicks" should be feathered out enough that I'll be able to tell what I want to keep, and the younger ones... I'm just going to end up parting with. So much passion and so many birds, so little space :-/ I'm also needing to scale back on my cavies - - wanna get started with texel guinea pigs? LOL!

Edited to say - also - I'm not NPIP, and I've never had my birds blood tested at all, so I wanted more information about the requirements for entering. I love having my birds, but as far as showing, I'm sure it could be fun, but most of my joy just comes out of having them

I know locally the fair requires at least 30 birds blood tested for something or other before entering, and I'm not willing to let someone stick 30 of my silkies with a needle! haha

I always get eggcited when I see an Ohio show...then I look on the map and see where it is...

Too much of a drive for me given the size of the show...good luck to those going though.
