Hi all hoping for any advice
And following on from my previous post with very helpful advice but things have progressed

My silkie has been on Metronidazole for 3 weeks now, her canker has improved but she has canker either side of her lower beak, on top of this she’s now got a respiratory infection. She’s lost a massive amount of weight and I don’t think she’s going to survive this 😞

She was at the vet last week and the vet suggested we try iodine on the sores unfortunately this resulted in a massive bleed for which she had to be aneathhistised so they could stop the bleeding, my vet said the canker had ulcerated on a blood vessel.

The Metronidazole doesn’t seem to be doing anything now , and today she’s had a clicking in her chest , both cankers have also bled today , could the cankers not be cankers could it be anything else ? Her mouth does not smell at all

Is there anything else I can try ? What other conditions present the same as canker

Thank you

Sorry for such an awful photo I will try to get better ones I’ve circled where there is still the yellow stuff and where it’s been bleeding the but on the roof of the mouth is now gone (for now)

Thank you I’ve got some honey I’ll try that I’ve tried to get better photos today, she had a popping in her right chest yesterday that was by her front today the popping under her wings her windpipe is also massive and I’m really worried about giving her any more medicine

She’s currently on metro (I’ve been putting the tablet to the vet back of the tongue now I’m worried did it go into her lungs given the size of her windpipe)

I'm sorry for all you're dealing with. I personally stay away from chemical (or Big Pharma) medications if at all possible. I've used this Manuka honey for over a decade to address a very long list of issues in my animals, including cancer. It's absolutely top notch for addressing wounds, infections, lumps and bumps. As to giving chickens pills, I always crush them, mix with a little water, and syringe to avoid any chance the chicken cannot swallow the pill or to prevent the pill from getting stuck.

I would definitely also administer the honey orally. If she's not eating well, liquify the honey by adding a little warm water to the honey, then syringe feed.
