I've never had a cannoli! I know I am missing out! But I don't want to try a grocery store one and be completely disappointed and turned off. Do you eat the grocery store bakery section cannolis or do you make your own?

I think that those would be ok. I've had them from a variety of places and they are all delicious.
fresh bakery ones are good---they get soggy if not fresh. you can buy cannoli shells in some grocery stores--the filling is easy to make. Sometimes I make a batch of filling and we dip plain shortbread cookies or broken sugar cone pieces in it
I've never made my own and have always purchased them. Definitely go to a bakery you have bought goods from before, it's worth a try!

the filling is sweetened ricotta cheese---if you like cheesecake, cannolis are a first cousin!
That sounds heavenly! I love cheesecake! Especially homemade cookie dough cheesecake!
