Cannot figure out whats wrong with her eye??!!

took casey to the vets today.was a good visit.he was very surprised at how well her eye looks.hard white mucus is on her cornea that hes hoping to get off by using the betadine and terramycin.hes waiting until her eye is stronger than will start trying to scrap it off.so for now no surgery is in her near future as long as she keeps doing as well as she is.im so relieved, ive become very attached to her since shes been in the house.so keep crossing you fingers for sweet little casey...

well i had to rush casey back to the vet tonight.i thought for sure she had ruptured her eye.i had her outside enjoying the sunshine and i noticed her eye was bubbling.then before i could react she scratched it and ripped that hard white stuff off.it started to bleed.but thank goodness after the vet cleaned her eye it was still there.it looks like she has a cateract over her pupil.we discussed doing surgery but we both feel its not worth the risk right now.shes not in pain and he said if everything fused then she would be ok.surgery will be a last option and only if her eye ruptures.he still wants to see her again on thursday.so we are still crossing our fingers.her spirits are high and shes a great little patient..

I'm afraid I don't have much advice in the way of treatment for such a problem, but I thought it was worth mentioning that I too had a roo with an eye injury a while ago who ended up losing vision in that side. I'm happy to say that even with vision in only one eye, he is healthy and happy and capable of living a very normal life. I sincerely hope Casey comes out of this predicament healthy and with vision intact, but if the vet does have to remove her eye, I still think Casey will be able to live a happy and normal life.

Wishing for the best!
