umm I dont want to sound dumb ( ooppss to late LOL ) but how do I calibrate the thermometer ? I got up this morning to check it was reading 96.8 and the humidity was at 50% - how do I raise that? add more water ?

I am glad to know that it saying outside temp is fine - I was wondering about that - thank you so much for the help - this is something totally new to me
