Cant Believe My Luck!

As some may know, I recently got a flock of mixed chicks from four different straight runs. I have 12 chickens, and multiple different sources have told me I have TEN hens! My hopes are high and I'm excited to see these guys grown and laying! I was especially ecstatic because my first ever flock was a flock of 7 RIRs, and 6 ended up roosters that I had to put in a pot of rice. There are only 3 chickens that are in the unsure pile, with 2 definite roosters and 7 definite hens! Yay! I just wanted to kind of flaunt my luck haha. I'd like to know you guy's experiences with straight runs!

I love roosters... Once one rises up above the pecking order he will be the Alpha and the other two will Behave. or get his wrath. Usually a Whack with a wing or feet and a few feathers pulled to remind him of his discression.

I had three Waylin Willie and Bubba. What a hoot. The hens were happy and secure. My mixed flock had quite a number of Bantam crosses. So they were Wily and resource full. I had eggs coming out my ears. SMH

lol congratulations!!! I started with 12 chickens. My 3 white leghorns were meat birds *big sigh*. But out of the other 9 chickens I have 1 cockerel, 6 pullets, and 2 unknowns (though I suspect one pullet one cockerel ). Not too shabby eh .

I will add pictures here as soon as I get home today! I'm thinking about selling my Lakenvelders as a breeding pair, since one is definitely a cockerel, but the other Laken is an unknown that's leaning on the pullet side of looks right now, do you guys think it'd be too risky to sell them as a definite pair?

There's a forum around here for help with gender ID's preferably if they're over 6 weeks old. If you don't feel sure I would either wait until you can be sure or lower the asking price to reflect that, and always be honest with a buyer about details like that.
