Can't find chicks!?!

We are finally all set and ready for our chicks, but there seems to be along wait or they are unavailable everywhere! I really would like some Buff Orbs and Silver Wyns. Am I just buying in the "off" (wrong) season or is there always this type of wait? Just venting, but any feedback would be helpful!

I went to a feed store this weekend & asked about chicks (not that I want any more right now - was just curious). I was told that the season is over.

Try craigslist.com & online hatcheries like mypetchicken.com.

It's getting very hot in the northern hemisphere for shipping birds. Local breeders often have six-week old junior pullets for sale at this time of year. It's lower risk and you have birds that will lay in September. Plus you are assured of the gender...

I ordered from Meyer & got chicks the very next week. Of course that was six weeks ago...
