Sorry guys.... someone might have already had this idea. what about breaking up the forum into age groups.... that way the forty something oldsters (me) don't get mixed up in the teeny bopper twenty something meat market (not me for some ages now). Just one suggestion I'm sure of thousands! Love ya BYC!

I have suggested this once before due to the old people saying us teens shouldn't be on BYC. and the "Youngsters" could connect. same as the oldsters. But it never got a yes. nor did it get a no... actually i dont even remember them saying they'll look into it

Thanks for the suggestion.

This has come up about half a dozen times and we've decided against it.

We don't want to promote a community with age being a factor. We have a lot of kids that act like adults and some adults that act like kids (you know who you are!)

Thanks Nifty. I'm in middle school and find that the adults on here are kind, helpful, and funny just like people my own age. They are also wonderfully informative. If I was restricted to merely a section of fellow teens I don't think I would have learned an eighth as much (especially since when I joined not many kids were on here.) I think age separation would definitely be bad for the forum, so thanks for deciding against it.

Wooo ... busted.

I understand now why, when I was younger and said I wanted to be a professional musician when I grow up, people laughed at me. Turns out it has to be one or the other.

Plus, having an "age" forum for the younger people (teens, etc.) might make them more vulnerable to the "less-desirables" of the Internets. Some people like to talk to their friends while keeping some personal details a secret.

That is another good point. This is the ONE forum my parents feel comfortable with me being on because of the restrictions (like minors can't mention their exact age).
