Boiled eggs will help but you will have to mash them up as they can take too big bites as it'll lodge their throats! Yikes! :O But yeah that'll help with a lack of protein or anything until you get the feed I hope! Good luck with your lil buttons!
They may be runted by the time you put them on the right feed, wont kill them they'll just be even smaller. The first couple days are the most crucial of their early development. If you just can't get gamebird starter, turkey starter is 28%.
Cut up meal worms and hard boiled eggs will substitute some protein.
Nothing now sadly the only one that hatched died last night he drowned in the water dish that was set in the incubator to raise humidity.. God I feel like such an idiot I suppose next time I'll have everything I need... The other eggs are still in the incubator hopefully they might still hatch though I doubt they will sense I opened the incubator. Thanks anyway everyone...
As long as they weren't pipped when you opened the incubator you didn't kill the other eggs.
My hatcher has a tray that sits just over the water res for the unit. One time I went to pull it out and about 15 chicks jumped in the water. I saved all of them but it was close to hypothermia on a couple. Accidents happen to the best of us.
They weren't piped when I opened it so maybe they might hatch though the humidity went down to 57%! Well I'm happy I had at least one hatch my first time incubating.. If the rest of them hatch I might post pictures. Next time I'm just going use sponges to raise the humidity, do know any other ways to raise it besides sponges?
