Up until now, the temp was steady at 99.6 and the humidity at about 35- 45% (It fluctuated) I locked down last night and it has been nothing but trouble since! Today it went all crazy, humidity up to 68% with temp at 97, then temps up to 104 (for about 15 minutes) and humidity at 45%, now it is back at 99 and the humidity is at 48 %!!! What in the hajeebeez is going on??? Why is is all messed up now??? When it was down I adjusted it a tiny bit and it spiked, then I adjusted it a tiny bit and it went down to somewhat normal. This is enough to drive me crazy!

Do I put a cup or something in with wet paper towels for humidity? I filled the little well at the bottom. To add water I am using a straw and a medicine dropper so I don't have to open it at all.

This is my very first hatch in an incubator....usually I let the hens to their thing and don't have to worry about it!

Sorry I can't help. I just put mine on lockdown last night and I can't get the humidity over 40%. I hope they make it....

Place a wash damp cloth folded in half in the bator. In order to bring the humidity up, sometimes it takes a larger area to make it work. Add water to the cloth until you get it about 60%. You shouldn't need to mess with the tempperture. It should have leveled out once the turner was removed. This is the time many make the mistake of fiddling with the controls. If everything was O K before lock down it should have stayed the same afterward. Once you get it close, DI NOT FIDDLE WITH IT.

Ok...so is 98 or 100 ok? instead of trying to get it right at 99??

Oh and I HEAR PEEPING now!!

I'd say 100 would be fine but 98 is a little bit chilly. It might delay your hatch if you keep it at that. Good luck with your hatch!
