Cant Get My Humidity Right... UpDate on Hatch

What I do with my incubator that is like yours is get a wash cloth,sponge or a few folded paper towels and wet them with very warm water, wring out just enough to not be real drippy and lay it in one of the corners. Also wanted to mention for more accuracy lay your stick thermometer on top of the eggs.

Only way to raise humidity is to increase the surface area of water that is in contact with the air. Try adding a sponge to your water reservoir. Lots of surface area in a porous sponge.

ok question about temperature.. is it better to be on the higher end of 102 or the lower end?

update: ok so i finally got the humidity to where i want it and the temp is staying solid and im very excited for my early Christmas present =].

Be carful with that Acurite I had the same one and after 5 days the display could not be read.

Thumbless I have the exact same set up as you do!!!!! My humidity is at 48% right now with temp at 101 F Steady. But now I read to bump it up to 102? is this correct???? I have a few test eggs in there now from my own chickens awaiting VERY Patiently I might add for eggs that should have been here yesterday!!!! Is there any way to know if eggs are fertile without breaking them open, I have a rooster with my girls but never seen him AT them so I really ain't sure if my test eggs are even fertile, today is day 2 i guess I will just look for growth in 5 more days.

Any thing that could of gone wrong on my first hatch did, the plexi glass I used warped had to hold it down with rocks, lightbulb was burnt out for several hours temp got down to 66 or so, humidity never got above 40% or so I thought when I put in another gauge it was reading 80%, so I left it there I had 3 chickens and 3 ducks hatch.

If it were me I wouldnt touch the temp.
