I am trying to make a second bator to use as a hatcher and I can't get the temp right. It is your basic styrofoam container, still air. I tried a 25 watt bulb and it wanted to sit at 106. I switched to a 7 1/2 watt and it sits at 94. Third attempt with a 15 watt and it wants to be at 104. If I pull out a third air plug, I can get it down to 102, but then the humidity wants to hold at about 58%. I have a pie pan of water in there, so there's plenty of surface area. Is 58% high enough for hatching? Is 102 too hot? Would adding a sponge bring up the humidity if it needs to be higher? Today is day 18, so I need to try to make it right ASAP. Help!

If you are measuring the temp at the TOP of the eggs, 102 will work. You might also consider getting a dimmer switch from your local hardware store. That would enable you to adjust a little better.
