when the eggs go into lockdown and we open up the *plugs* the humidity drops to 50%. HELP.

What can we do to alleviate the humidity problem (we have sponges always wet as well as a small bowl of water) and especially when we open the plugs for air circulation.

The incubator is like to Hovabator with fan but no egg turner.

Thanks.

In my experience, 70% humidity during lock down is plenty... This last hatch of mine I stayed right at 60% after lockdown and had no problems at all with shrinkwrapping... As a side note, I kept it at 40% the first 18 days...

That's a good range. I use 60 to 70% for my last 3 days.

The max we've gotten during any range is 73% humidity. With the vents open during the last 3 days its 50%.

How do you calibrate humidity gauge, we haven't done that.

Thanks everyone.

Youre fine - at 70%. Seriously - you are fine.

You need to read the sticky on dry incubation.
