I am trying to feed this fledgling, but don't know what or how to feed it, I also am not sure what bird species it is, I think its a pigeon. As to how I got it, me and my father were driving by a home depot for supplies, and as we left, we caught sight of a falcon carrying something, and after rescuing the animal, it was bleeding from both sides and was very scared. I manage to use a eyedropper to give it water, but I cant seem to feed it. It has been 3 days since the rescue. Any advice would help!!! For now it's name is "Lucky"

I KNOW HOW TO HELP!!!
Its a piegon

i raised pigeons like this and even smaller successfully!!

Get weetabix plain. Place some in a bowl crumbled up. Pour water in the bowl and mix until its thick but slightly runny.

Put it in the microwave for about 20 sec stirring it.
Dip your finger in it to make sure its warm but not like owch hot!

Then pour some warm water in it to make it slightly runny.

Basically it needs to be able to sit on your hand.

This technique works all the time!

Sit with the bird. Place it on a blanket it can get messy.
Have a spoon in the bowl and this sounds weird but place the mixture on your hand where your fingers meet the palm near the fingers creases. Place only a spoonful of it.

Then try and encourage the bird with your other hand. Grab its beak gently and guide it towards the food in your hand.

Make it dip its beak in it.
After some time it should learn this and begin eating.

And then it should start calling to eat making high pitch screams for you.

Feed it 3x a day. Morning about 9-10am. Afternoon about 3-4pm and evening at 7-8pm

Let it eat as much as it wants. Touch its stomach/crop on the front of if to see if its fat. That means its ate enough.

The water he doesnt really drink a lot of.
But i opened a tap and let it pour water out slowly and i would get the bird in my hand and sometimes it would take a sip from the water poruing down.
If not, dont worry at all. It will be fine anyway because of the water in the weetabix.

Let me know if you need help or need to know more.
I would love to save lucky!!

Together we can do it.

The red is where you should place the weetabix mixture.
Pigeons feed from their parents beak the same like a penguin so this meathod gets close to what they would feel like if their parents are feeding them.

I can't seem to get it to eat on its own, do i curl my hand into a fist while exposing the feed from the open side of my hand? I might be doing it wrong.

First of sorry i was meaning to ask how you were getting on.

The mixrure you made which i can see in the pic is far too hard. It needs more liquid. The consistency is too hard for it. You need to hold you hand open and pour the liquid via a spoon onto your hand which i have highlighted in the image of the hand.

You do not need to curl your hand up. (Ive never done that??)

You need to be a bit assertive with lucky as you can tell its bewildered about your hand. Haha
So try gently with your free hand to grab her beak and stick it in the mixture and she might eat the food.
Try this...

If you need more help i will try and be here all day!
