I live in the pacific NW, and am moving my chicks to the coop during the day. I can't seem to keep their food completely dry, the air is so damp. I have an area that is enclosed on 3 sides, and the damp seems to still get into the feeder. Today I resorted to a small ceramic dish and will refill later today.

I was hoping to be able to put out several days feed, even bought a hopper type feeder vs. the regular chicken feeder, so it would drop down more easily in the damp. Everything in the hopper is now damp.

Suggestions?? I would like to not have to bend over and get all the way into the back corner twice a day to place a dish a dry food.

I don't know if it works for chicken feed but i know if you put rice in salt it keeps it dry but i'm not sure if it's ok for chicks to eat it and if you feed it getting damp in your storage container you could try putting a few of those little packs you get in new shoes or beef jerky

I think rice will swell up after they eat it and cause problems so I wouldn't do that. Those little packs probably aren't very good for them either. Giving them only enough food for one day and feeding them every day is probably the best solution.
