Sick Chicken - Need Help Please!

I'm glad she went up to roost, that seems like a good sign.

Even if you are giving layer feed, they will always need a calcium supplement available (which is usually oyster shell).

But even when you have a supplemental calcium source available, they can still end up with a deficit or there might be an internal reason that their eggs aren't forming or passing normally. I've been learning a lot the last few months from reading threads about irregular eggs.

Do the best you can to get the extra calcium into her.

With the symptoms you describe, I would suspect she's having difficulty expelling an egg, membrane or lash material.

If possible, get a bottle of Calcium Citrate+D3 and give 300mg once daily for a week. The pills are big, but you can just pull down on the wattles, pop the pill and let her swallow it.

She is about 18 months old. The night before last I went out to close up the coop and she was in the nesting box with egg yolk all over her. No shell in sight. The next day I went to check on her and she was very subdued. Since then, she has been mostly inactive and is isolating under the coop.
