I lost my Marans/Wyandotte cockerel this morning, so I had to get a Silver Laced Wyandotte pullet, and a Buff Orpington pullet to make me feel better.

I was sort of in shock today. I went to a yard sale and found a man feeding a chicken meal worms. This isn't the first time I went to a yard sale that had chickens. But I looked around for the OTHER chickens...and there weren't any. When I asked him about it he said his other two were killed by racoons. He didn't say anything about getting more. I started worrying about the poor chicken all by herself. I almost offered him two of the chicks I am getting in a couple of weeks. Then I thought, there are chickens all over craigslist and a feed store down the street. HE can get his own. But I thought, if it were someone on here they would say, "I have 25 on order from the hatchery and my wife is picking up two as we speak that we found on CL.

He also said that the container of meal worms he was holding cost $28. I am SURE I saw them at the feed store for $8. I thought, "I should buy a bunch of those on CL and sell them for $16." lol

Hey I can totally understand having the chick fever. I Just can't get enough of them either, is there a support group that can help us with our crazy chicken addiction....lol Just joking I do love those little creatures a little to much some times.
