I had 3 runners hatch yesterday and I have such a hard time putting them back in their brooder! All 3 napped with me today nestled in my hair and a bamboo velour blanket -- nice and toasty warm. They are the most precious little things ever. My first ducklings and I'm in

Oh Gosh,... I thought this was a post about a sick duckling that needed to be culled.. SO GLAD its not. Mine keep me awake at night...I just lay in bed watching them. Its just too cute. Even when they are asleep I love watching them. Enjoy them while they are small. They grow up way too fast.

lol..you didnt need to do that... I wasnt even sure if anyone outside Australia would call putting an animal " to sleep" to put it down.. But it is hard to do either....of now to change water feed and brooders for mine...then cuddle time.

My 2 Muscovy girls just hatched ducklings on Thursday... they are so sweet too. I took 4 away from the Mommas so I can play with/ love on them

duckyfromoz, in England we would say 'putting to sleep' to mean putting it down as well

In fact, I study animal management at uni and my teacher told us a horror story of how someone went to a vets to have their dog put to sleep, the vet euthanised the animal, then the owner came back to collect the dog. The vet was confused and said the owner wanted their dog to be put to sleep, and the owner said put to sleep to have it's nails trimmed...

How awful is that
